The Other Side Of The Screen Is My World

2E5Bbhr8

The other side of the screen is the world I want to live in, the other side of the computer screen is the world that I find myself in.

Since I was young, I had many ideas, and tried a lot of them, I have created a podcast website (msn space) before podcasts were there, and created a website (www.sawwarna.com) which I literately thought about its layout while I was sleeping. But life on internet and by internet has changed dramatically, and every three to four months, a new thing appears.

To start a fan base, and to deliver a content to this fan base, I have to focus on few social media platforms, but cover all the platforms to be able to attract larger number of followers, subscribers and readers.

we have very powerful tools to share to the world, but each tool has followers with different demographics, and a calendar of posts, quotes, updates and creation should not only determine the social media platform and the timing, also it should determine the type of content it should have, to whom it is directed, and what kind of marketing it requires .

all of these thoughts of mine are still not connected together, but I promise that I’m going to connect them together soon, specially with the different activities and posts types I do.

for the time being … I’m semi active on instagram, twitter, linkedinwordpress, and youtube… but I will try to cover snapchat, and facebook again.

the subjects that I’m welling to cover:

I’m hoping for the best, because I know and I’m very sure that my life will go for the best if I started doing what I really like and what I really want to be doing… an entrepreneur through the internet, I have other contact with a business model that I’m creating that will be a new thing insha’allah.

Reading a book

After all these digital words and paragraphs as I’m writing now, I had a confused thought about purchasing a new book. should I get it on my ipad or should I go to the library to purchase it from there ?

Then I started to remember my father’s opinion about books, how he holds the book, smell the papers, touch the cover and touch the pages, how he write notes, highlight and translate some words, my father has this philosophy about reading, so he is a very important reference to this issue.

I decided to purchase it as a physical book, and guess what ! I’m really happy with my decision, reading a book before sleeping though a paper is much acceptable by me than reading it through a screen with all the notifications jumping around

my new list of books is the following:

The Rules of Life – Richard Templar

Maps of My Life – Guy Browning

Obliquity – John Kay

Trading Up – Michael J. Silverstein and Neil Fiske

Confessions of a radical industrialist – Ray Anderson with Robin White

Confidence at Work – Ros Taylor

I’m a kind of reader who reads a little from each book, then jump to another book to read, so when i finish a book, I finish all the books together (3 to 4 at a time)

I might post my opinion about each book, because I’m trying a new method in blogging.

Why Did I Quit Smoking?

I started smoking before 9 years, and before that, I used to try but I wasn’t a continuance smoker until 2005.

I used to like the habit, and I was a proud smoker. I used to show off with my smoking tricks and how I smoke in a lot of forms of smokes as Cigarettes mainly, HOKA or SHISHA, and something local here in UAE called Midwakh, which is a kind of pipe.

I didn’t try to stop smoking at all, but I didn’t smoke infront of my parents, even when they knew that I’m a smoker, i didn’t because it is a tradition here that we don’t smoke or talk about smoking infront of our parents, specially the father.

I didn’t have any kind of sickness related to smoking, and I was an active person who did a lot of activities, and I used to sing a little but didn’t feel that smoking affected my life style that I had, no! it was a part of my life style!
I used to design my day around smoking, so whenever I wake up, I had to prepare coffee for the morning cigarettes, I had to prepare a juice or purchase one whenever I ride my car, because I want to smoke, I didn’t mind standing up in the hot desert weather we have to enjoy a smoke. It was a life style and it was not a problem for me.

I have got married and my wife didn’t mind my smoking, but not in the house, so i used to smoke in the balcony, and I didn’t complain about it. then suddenly, i started to think about my lifestyle, I wanted to take control over my life on all dimensions that are controllable, so I sat a set of goals, first goal was stopping smoking!

I didn’t stop smoking because of a sickness, i didn’t stop it because of financial crises or anything, I stopped smoking because I wanted to test myself, to test if I can control the thing that I’m attached to, so I stopped smoking at 27/03/2013 and I’m proud of it.

I really feel proud about myself, and I really feel that enough self esteem to say that I can control my life. and I feel more active towards change to the better.

Scuba Diving, Wall climbing, Shooting aaaand Photography ~ P90X

you would wonder what is the common between the four of them, and I’ll tell you that there is no common but they are all what I like.

Everytime I tell someone that I went to dive, he would start asking all the stupid question as “why would you dive twice at the same location, don’t you get bored ?” and I always think about how boring is he when he asks the same question again and again… any scuba diver would know that the non scuba diver would be jealous but in the same time they are not as fun as we are.

Wall climbing is a new thing I’m going to try the following weeks, which they opened a new one in our city and it is closer to where I live, I think I’m going to take the course of 8 classes to see if I would climb or just for the sake of trying something new. Shooting is something I do often, and sometimes I need to shoot an aim better than shooting someone in the head,

Photography, Oh photography… I’m really sorry to say that I went to lebanon on April and I didn’t take my Camera, I took only my GoPro Hero3 to take some videos ! Yeah I’m far lil bit from photography and I’m into videography these days…

I want to try Kayaking, but I have no time because whenever I come close to the sea, I Dive! I want to collect the 100 dive soon for my Dive Master.

Anyways, I want to start the program P90X to follow it with the Body Beast, and I’ll log my exsersizes week by week here on my blog, hoping that sharing would help me in focusing on the workout

Scuba Diving

I know that it passed long time since I posted in my blog, but my work and my studies are taking a large part from my life, that i had no time to do any new activity or do any photography….

Actually I take pictures for my little daughter El Reem (check her fb page) , but it is too hot here in United Arab Emirates to go outdoor and take photos.

Also with the RC planes, it is too hot to go and fly, because I think the Lipo Battery would explode in such temperature so I’m keeping everything indoor until the weather get little cooler to fly the F22.

but the primary reason why I’m posting this, to tell about a new experience I had on my Birthday, when my beloved wife gave me a present (Open water Scuba Diving training from PADI) the international organization that gives certificates to dive anywhere in the world.

PADI is Professional Association of Divers Instructors, and this course would let me dive until 18 meters with all the gear and the tools to be safe, and to be prepared for any emergency in that deep.

I started training In Ras Al Khaima (RAK) – UAE far from my house 170 KM or more, since i live in the middle of the desert. and we went as a group of 6 + David the instructor, me Lebanese, one Indian, two Chinese married couple, one girl from New Zealand and another girl from south Africa. and we went to an old ship which is resting on about 8 meters deep in RAK since 30 years or more, so Imagine the living features down there.

it was interesting experience, and yet i didn’t;t finish my course, but I’m so motivated to finish, and then upgrade it to the 30 meters deep, I might get the GO PRO HD 2 to tape video underwater documenting my experience, and also keeping it as a memory for me and to share it with the online community….

HDR ing pictures

I know I know, we all love HDR, and not all of us know how to do it, but there are pretty much programs that can do it for you without any editing and any “HDRing” skills …. this post is not for teaching people how to create HDR pics, this post is for the People who know how to use the fancy programs …..

Dear “people who know how to do HDR”,

please stop it, please and please and please as much as needed to make you not being addicted to HDR every single picture you take, even with one exposure …. please stop it and think think and think before using any HDR program again.

I’ve seen alot of beautiful HDR pictures that can make you feel that you live in the picture, but 70% of these pictures are more beautiful before being “HDRed” … I want you to know that you are ADDICTED , and this is what makes most of your pictures looks NIONy and stupid and has alot of stupid lighting and alot of overdose of strength ….

what is addiction? is when you can’t stop doing something,

Is it something good or bad? addiction is bad, addiction stop the person’s sense
What abou tthe artistic  HDR pictures?  please tell me something, are you a photographer who can’t make his pictures artistic without HDRing ?

people, I’m telling you this not to say that I’m against HDR, I love HDR pictures and I use it in my pictures alot, but I take pictures that need HDR to be shown all, as a different lighting exposures in a few that i want to show it all, as a picture from indoor to outdoor with the need to show the indoor and the outdoor items, or a picture for a landscape where i need to show the reflection of the water as a real water…. or the lines on a piece of wood …. but some other pictures need some contrast changing only, or exposure without creating three or four pictures to create the HDR.

think clearly and use the HDR technique wisely and then choose one out of 15 pictures you like, and make it artistic HDR and that My friend will make you an HDR lover, not addicted…

Regards, 😀

sincerely someone who’ve got fed up from stupid HDR pics
